India’s 'Forest Man' Wants Assam's Erosion-prone Molai Woods to Become a Community Reserve

The Molai forest with a bamboo understory, covering over 300 hectares, also has several hundred trees and medicinal plants of indigenous origin. If Jadav Payeng's appeal gets approval, it would become Assam's first Community Reserve.
